In collaboration with the Faculty of Law of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Competition Commission has conducted an essay contest in early 2021 to engage tertiary-level students and encourage them to develop a deeper understanding of competition law. We received more than a hundred entries and in the end four winning essays were chosen for this inaugural Competition Commission Outstanding Essay Award.
Essay topic: “What available tools does the Hong Kong Competition Commission have to address competition issues that may arise from conglomerates and what changes to the competition regime could be made to address competition issues related to conglomerates in Hong Kong?”
