Prof. Anna Wong is a Professor of Practice in Finance and the Program Director of the Bachelor of Finance (Asset Management and Private Banking) at the HKU Business School. She teaches financial regulations, compliance and credit risk management at the Faculty.

Prof. Wong has an extensive experience in banking and finance. She had worked in major financial institutions including Citigroup, HSBC, Credit Suisse, BNP Paribas and the Chase Manhattan Bank, covering private banking, asset management, securities brokerage, corporate banking, credit and risk management. She was the Head of Private Bank, Greater China at Credit Suisse and the CEO of HSBC Broking Services (Asia) Limited.

Prof. Wong is a Non-Executive Director of the Insurance Authority and an Independent Non-Executive Director of the MTR Corporation Limited and The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited. Her previous appointments included Member of the Advisory Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission, Independent Non-executive Director of Bank of China International Limited, Director of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute and Director of the Hong Kong Securities Association Limited.

Register of Member's Interests

The Competition Ordinance and the Rules of Procedure of the Commission require that a member of the Commission, or a member of a committee of the Commission, must disclose to the Commission any interest that the member has which is of a class or description determined by the Commission. The Competition Ordinance and the Rules of Procedure also provide that the Commission is to establish and maintain a register relating to any such disclosed interests which it must make available for inspection through the Internet.

The purpose of maintaining and publishing a register of interests is not specified in the Competition Ordinance. Nonetheless, the Commission infers that the purpose is to enhance transparency and to ensure objectivity, fairness and public confidence in the decision-making of the Commission.
